Time to Debunk Pain Myths

As an uncomfortable part of growing older, most Americans get body pain. Pain is an aging's natural side effect. When we age, some physical wear and tear "nuisance pain" is common. That's not the same as chronic pain.

It's not good to make it hard and live with pain. When you ignore pain, it could have serious consequences, especially if you choose to treat yourself in an unhealthy manner instead of seeing pain management doctors.

Pain affects more than your body, particularly chronic pain. It is emotionally exhausting and can contribute to feelings such as anger and frustration (comprehensibly). Yet pain pressure can be a terrific circle: the pain can up your stress levels, and higher stress levels can exacerbate pain. It leads to depression and makes focusing difficult.

Women Feel More Pain than Men

Due to conditions and events such as menstruation, pregnancy, and migraine headaches, women actually feel more discomfort than men during their lives. Studies also show that women can experience pain differently than men, often more intensely. Many studies, for instance, show that women need twice as much pain medication to get the same relief as men. There is, however, contradictory evidence on whether women actually higher pain tolerance than men (although millions of women can disagree).

Brain Cannot Feel Pain

Your body releases chemicals that send pain signals to receptors in the brain through the spinal cord when you stub your toe or touch something warm. The brain then sends the message of pain back to the hurting part of the body. But while it is the interpreter of pain, there are no pain-sensitive nerves in the brain itself. Only the surrounding structures of the brain feel pain. As a matter of fact, surgeons can operate on the brain without anesthesia once inside the brain. Surgeons measure brain tissue in one technique known as brain mapping when recording responses such as muscle movement and speech— all while the patient is conscious.

Chronic Pain Will Kill You

Chronic pain will never kill you, but it will leave an adverse effect on your life. Even you may get suicidal thoughts.

Pain Is a Side Effect of Aging Naturally

Sometimes it is true, but not for chronic pain and it is not okay to live with ignoring it completely. Therefore, you must choose a professional approach to heal pain rather than selecting self-medication in an unhealthy way.

Even arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis can make you down with severe pain. Therefore, you need to visit your rheumatologist.
